SUPER PUPPY CLASSES
A six week class designed for puppies under sixteen weeks, this is the most important class you’ll ever take with your dog! We will help you get started off on the right paw with crate training, house training, how to handle mouthing and chewing, and introducing beginning basic commands. Most importantly, there are lots of socialization opportunities and plenty of time for Q&A!
SUPER DOG CLASSES
Come! Learn how to be your dog’s trainer! This class is designed for all dogs over four months with little or no training. Basic commands such as Attention, Stays, and Recall are taught. There is also a lot of focus on managing challenging behaviors such as jumping up, excessive barking, and leash walking, and of course, plenty of time for Q&A.
Designed to challenge dogs and keep them learning.
You and your dog will have a blast teaching tricks with Laurie! $125.00 for four weeks, includes your dog’s membership to VDC.
SUPER DUPER DOG CLASSES
Has your dog learned the basics? Need to practice more with distractions? In the Super Duper Dog class we work on all the exercises you have learned, but make it harder. We also introduce new things such as “go-to-your-bed”, off leash heeling, and down on recall. You can repeat this class as much as you would like as it is different and offers a new challenge every time.
(WHAT IS IT?!)
Using the amazing equipment (nose) and hunting instinct that every dog has, we train your dog to do a focused search for food or essential oils. Nosework has become an international competitive dog sport, where dogs do timed searches of four different elements: containers (boxes, luggage, etc), interiors (within buildings), exteriors (the great outdoors), and vehicles (exterior only). Any dog with a nose and at least 2 legs can play (incl. blind, deaf, and senior dogs), and it requires minimum physical exertion from handlers. One dog searches at a time, so even dogs who are mild to moderately reactive can play. This sport builds confidence in shy or fearful dogs, provides mental and physical stimulation for busy dogs, and builds your relationship as you and your dog learn to communicate with each other during the search. Dogs need to be able to wait in your car, or quietly in a crate with other dogs nearby, between searches.

INTRO TO NOSEWORK – INTERIORS/CONTAINERS
Limited to 5 dogs, age 4 months and older. $175 for 6 weeks.
This intro course will teach the basic concepts of scent work, including how canine noses work, how odor moves, and how to read your dog. Students will have an opportunity to provide their dogs with experience figuring out scent puzzles and will focus mainly on the first two elements: containers and interiors. Due to the structure of the class–one dog searching at a time–dogs who are not working need to be comfortable in a crate in an adjoining room, or waiting alone in their vehicle between their turns to search. In this way, we can accommodate mild to moderately reactive dogs. Contact Holly directly if your dog has reactivity issues or for questions about the class, 802-540-0219. Call Vermont Dog Club to register.
SUPER KIDS & DOGS!
A four week class just for kids and their dogs! Shannon Lowe, kid expert, and Whitney Doremus, dog expert, make this a fun and educational class for both species. $100 for four weeks, includes your dog’s membership to VDC.
